Age Verification Guide
Mech Sauce recently added an age verification plug-in to our check-out process. This "third-party" age verification company is called BlueCheck. We chose Blue Check because of their secure SSL, the fact they rank as one of the top age verification providers, and are currently compliant with the newly adopted FDA regulations adopted on August 08, 2016, that read "in part":
*(2)(i), each retailer must verify by means of photographic identification containing the bearer's date of birth that no person purchasing the product is younger than 18 years of age;
*(ii) No such verification is required for any person over the age of 26;
There's no need to download any software for this, as the verification process has been added to the check-out process. After you check the box in agreement to our terms and conditions, you'll be prompted by the following steps when you check out:
Orders can be filtered when placing orders by folks who are immediately verified as over the age of 26 by using the following process:
1) What is your Legal name - Full name as it appears on your drivers license
2) What is your D.O.B. (DD/MM/YYYY)
3) What is your Cell Phone number
4) What are the Last four digits of your SSN
5) You'll receive a 4 digit verification code to your phone number, enter it, and you are verified. This will take you back to the checkout process where you enter your credit card information.
Don't worry if you can't be verified immediately, this could be for not your using legal name, multiple people with the same name, if you've moved recently, etc. If you are not verified immediately, BlueCheck will switch from a 5-step verification process to an 8-step process. Here are the next steps:
6) What's your email address
7) Upload a selfie that includes your face and your drivers license (you must show that you are in possession of your own drivers license)
8) Upload a picture of your drivers license alone (Information is taken from this manually, as part of the verification)
You will receive an email that explains BlueCheck has to "manually verify your age". A real person will take a look at the pictures you uploaded to determine you are who you say you are, and that you are of of legal age to purchase e-liquid products in your particular state.
After it's been viewed by a BlueCheck team member, you'll receive an email response stating: "You are good to go". You'll then navigate back to mechsauce.com to finish your order (items will still be in your cart, and you'll need to refresh your browser twice).
